Workshops & Expeditions
Crafted for the curious and creatively driven, these immersive workshops invite you into the world of multi-award-winning photographer Rachel Bigsby, ranging from intimate one-day masterclasses to transformative multi-day expeditions. Blending intuitive, experience-led teaching with a distinctly refined creative vision, Rachel offers considered tuition in extraordinary locations. Each workshop is shaped by her signature approach to revealing natural artistry where light, movement, and behaviour converge, alongside nuanced guidance in composition, fieldcraft and the often-overlooked discipline of observation. As an IAATO-certified expedition guide, licensed powerboat operator and advanced first aid professional, Rachel leads not only with artistic intention but with exceptional care, professionalism, and respect for the environments she works within.

Working across some of the world’s most remote and demanding marine environments, including Antarctica, the Arctic, the British Isles, Shetland, the Falkland Islands, Arctic Norway, and the sub-antarctic islands of Australia and New Zealand, Rachel brings a depth of field experience that few tutors can offer. A winner of Wildlife Photographer of the Year (Natural Artistry) and Bird Photographer of the Year (Portfolio), her work is recognised for its distinctive blend of artistic and behavioural insight. She is a sought-after lecturer, having presented at institutions such as Royal Geographical Society and Natural History Museum, as well as aboard expedition vessels operating in some of the planet’s most remote regions. Alongside her teaching, Rachel is a contributing photographer to National Geographic, a Nikon Europe creator, RSPB ambassador and has also filmed wildlife for television broadcast including, Sir David Attenborough's 'Wild Isles'.
This combination of real-world expedition experience, industry recognition and a proven ability to communicate complex ideas with clarity ensures that those travelling with her benefit not only from technical guidance, but from a deeper understanding of the subjects and environments they are photographing.
