Diving Gannets & Seabird Photography

An exclusive seabird photography masterclass in collaboration with Nikon School.

In collaboration with Nikon School, join Rachel Bigsby and Nikon School's Neil Freeman for an immersive three-day seabird photography masterclass, exploring the remarkable seabird colonies of RSPB Bempton Cliffs and the surrounding North Sea. Combining intimate encounters on land with exclusive boat charters to photograph diving Northern Gannets, this workshop offers exceptional opportunities to develop your photography in the company of two experienced photographic educators.

Expert tuition is at the heart of this experience. With a small group and dedicated opportunities for one-to-one guidance, Rachel and Neil provide personalised support tailored to your abilities, interests and creative ambitions. From mastering autofocus, exposure and birds-in-flight techniques to recognising behaviour, working with natural light and developing more compelling compositions, every encounter becomes an opportunity to learn.

Beyond technical proficiency, Rachel encourages you to explore the artistic possibilities of seabird photography, experimenting with creative techniques and learning to capture not simply what a moment looks like, but what it feels like. Throughout the workshop, practical field tuition is complemented by image reviews, constructive feedback and opportunities to refine your individual photographic style.

As part of this exclusive Nikon School collaboration, participants can enjoy complimentary access to Nikon cameras and lenses, offering an invaluable opportunity to experience professional photographic equipment in real-world conditions, with expert guidance close at hand. And importantly, you do not need to be a Nikon photographer to attend. Whether you use Nikon, Canon, Sony or another camera system, and whether you are beginning your photographic journey or looking to elevate an established practice, this workshop is designed to inspire, encourage and challenge you at your own pace.

More than an opportunity to photograph some of Britain's most charismatic seabirds, this is a chance to learn from experienced professionals, discover new creative possibilities and develop the confidence to approach wildlife photography with greater skill, understanding and imagination.

Three days of extraordinary wildlife, expert guidance and the freedom to see differently.
