Award-winning wildlife photographer Rachel Bigsby is thrilled to announce an exclusive collaboration with Heritage Expeditions, a family-owned expedition cruise company celebrated for their authentic small-ship adventures to some of the world’s most remote and pristine destinations. Together, they are offering unparalleled wildlife photography workshops designed to immerse participants in the art of capturing nature’s most extraordinary moments.

Aaron Russ, Commercial Director and Expedition Leader at Heritage Expeditions said:

“Rachel Bigsby’s wildlife photography workshops, limited to just eight photographers per voyage, provide guests with an incredible opportunity to travel with, and learn from, a truly remarkable artist.
Rachel is an accomplished and incredible talent beyond her years and a tenacious, self-taught trailblazer. Her genuine passion for nature is evident in both her incredible work, which not only beautifully captures the natural world but also informs and educates on its importance. We are incredibly excited to partner with Rachel and support her artistic vision while exploring some of the world's most remote and photogenic destinations.”

Rachel, who has earned accolades including Wildlife Photographer of the Year’s Natural Artistry award and Bird Photographer of the Year’s Portfolio prize, shared her excitement about the partnership:

“I’m so happy to partner with Heritage Expeditions to offer wildlife photography workshops for these incredible voyages. As a seabird photographer, this is truly a dream come true – the opportunity to explore some of the world’s most remote and pristine environments, where seabirds and wildlife thrive, with an organisation whose values align with my own,” she said. I’m excited to share my passion with likeminded individuals, guiding them to capture not just images, but the unique stories and fleeting moments that make these expeditions so special. Being able to help others create photographs they’ll treasure for a lifetime is an honour, and I can’t wait to embark on this journey together.”

These workshops, curated and led by Rachel herself, are an unparalleled opportunity to explore breathtaking landscapes and encounter rare wildlife in regions rarely visited by humans. With a strong focus on creativity, technique, and storytelling, Rachel will guide participants in capturing the fleeting beauty of some of the planet’s most unspoiled ecosystems.

Birding Down Under: Subantarctic and Chatham Islands 6 - 22 December 2025

Embark on an extraordinary journey to the Sub-Antarctic islands, including the Snares, Bounty, Antipodes, Auckland, Campbell, Macquarie, and Chatham Islands. Recognised as one of Condé Nast Traveler’s "25 Best Places to Go in 2025," these remote islands are a dream destination for wildlife photographers. This UNESCO World Heritage-listed region (excluding the Chatham Islands) offers unparalleled opportunities to photograph 10 species of albatross—five of which breed nowhere else—over 40 species of seabirds, and an astonishing diversity of endemic flora and fauna. Guests will capture images of rare wildlife against dramatic seascapes that have remained virtually unchanged for centuries.

Beyond Fiordland: New Zealand’s Wildest Islands 21 December 2025 - 1 January 2026

Explore the pristine environments of The Snares, Auckland Islands, and Campbell Island aboard the luxurious Heritage Adventurer. This workshop is designed to give photographers rare access to remote ecosystems and some of the Southern Ocean’s most iconic species, from penguins in their breeding colonies to soaring seabirds. Guided by Rachel, participants will learn to combine technical expertise with an artistic vision to create unforgettable images.
