'A Kingdom Multiplied'
In the remote embrace of the southern ocean, cradled by the windswept shores of Macquarie Island, a kingdom thrives, a kingdom of 100,000 breeding pairs of King Penguins.
Standing amidst this realm of monarchs, I found myself awash with awe. The sheer scale of life, raw, unyielding, and untamed, was overwhelming, almost beyond comprehension. The colony stretched as far as the eye could see, a cacophony of motion, sound and colour.
Seeking a way to translate both its chaotic beauty and regal rhythm, I turned to creativity and instinct, capturing this moment through an in-camera multiple exposure. Layers of life, feathers, crowns, and behaviour, blended into a single frame, evoking the essence of their majesty and the boundless energy of their world.
